How often should your child visit their physician to assess their preventive pediatric health options? The American Academy of Pediatrics established the following general guidelines for healthy children to visit a physician:
Infants are usually seen within 48-72 hours of hospital discharge, and then again at:
2 Weeks | 2 Months | 4 Months | 6 Months | 9 Months | 12 Months
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services recommends 7 well-child visits between the ages of 1 and 4.

Well-Child Visits
Well-child visits or check-ups are essential to keep your child in good health. During a well-child visit, your child's provider will perform:
- Health exams
- Vision and hearing test
- Vaccinations
- General health, growth, and development
- Medical referrals to a specialist, if needed
