Knox Community Hospital is required to meet the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) measures for health equity and The Joint Commission (TJC) standards to reduce health care disparities.

In addition, Knox Community Hospital's highest-level guiding statements emphasize the demonstration of compassion (to patients and fellow teammates) as a core objective and expectation. Addressing issues contributing to inequity in healthcare outcomes is key to delivering compassionate care.
