Patients with communication, cognitive, or swallowing difficulties may experience one or more of the following symptoms:
Voice Disorders
- Speaking with a hoarse or raspy voice
- Straining to use their voice
- Running out of breath when speaking
- Speaking very softly
- Weakening of the voice throughout the day
- Coughing or frequent throat clearing
Communication, Cognition, and Speech Disorders
- Trouble finding the right words, organizing thoughts, or sequencing events
