The Center for Cancer Care at Knox Community Hospital offers knowledgeable assistance to patients through a Patient Nurse Navigator.

Bobbi Mickley, RN, and Heather Guthrie, MSN, RN, help each patient and their family understand how to deal with a cancer diagnosis.

An Oncology Nurse Navigator can also assist with transportation issues, assessing the financial cost of treatments, and with the emotional ups and downs that occur before, during, and after treatment sessions are complete. Navigators are also aware of the resources available to patients and can provide important information about Cancer Care processes and procedures. Patient Navigators help patients “navigate” any complexities inherent in contemporary healthcare. They are always ready and willing to help patients on their Cancer Care journey to recovery.
