Palliative Care at Knox Community Hospital is provided by a specially trained team of specialists who collaborate with a patient’s other doctors to provide an extra layer of support.
Palliative Care is based on the needs of the patient, not on the patient’s prognosis. It is appropriate at any age and stage of illness and is often provided with curative treatment. Knox Community Hospital provides Palliative Care services for hospitalized patients and through the Center for Cancer Care. Palliative Care services are also available in the community for home and facility-based care through community partnerships and referral from your doctor.
End-of-Life (Hospice) Care is an option for patients nearing the end of life.
Palliative Care at Knox Community Hospital can provide inpatient end-of-life care when needed and also provide referrals to community partners when hospice care is needed at home.
