JOB SUMMARY

Provides direct/indirect patient care and delivers health care services to hospital employees, workers, and worker populations. The practice focuses on promotion, protection, and restoration of worker’s health within the context of a safe and healthy work environment.  Documents accurately and in a timely manner, while utilizing the nursing process. Applies critical thinking skills to assure the delivery of safe and quality care. Assures smooth patient flow, provides patient education and clerical support. Communicates and collaborates with other healthcare team members. Adheres to organizational policies and procedures; regulatory accrediting body requirements; and professional practice standards.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

 

  • Graduate of an accredited program for licensed practical nursing education.
  • Current licensure to practice practical nursing in the State of Ohio.
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider CPR (BLS) certification required.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Current knowledge of the nursing role and scope of practice as defined by the State of Ohio Nurse Practice Act and the Ohio Board of Nursing.
  • Current knowledge of American Nurses Association (ANA) Code of Ethics.
  • Positive customer service skills.
  • Effective teamwork skills.
  • Knowledge of all hospital, medical staff, and nursing process standards.
  • Assumes responsibility and accountability for individual knowledge, skills, performance and behavior in accordance with hospital, division, and unit standards of care, and policies and procedures.
  • Detail oriented with excellent interpersonal communication skills.
