Danielle Guffrey, MD Joins Acute Rehabilitation at KCH

KCH is excited to welcome Danielle Guffrey, MD, to the Acute Rehabilitation team.

The Acute Rehab Unit comprises 16 nursing staff and five therapists in an eight-bed unit on the fifth floor of the hospital.

Formerly, Guffrey served as the medical director of Reunion Rehabilitation Hospital Dublin and team lead physician for the cardiopulmonary rehabilitation program at Ohio Health Rehabilitation Hospital Columbus. Preceding this, she was an Associate Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, where she developed a resident curriculum and was the lead physician for the inpatient consultation service.

Dr. Guffrey is passionate about providing patients and their families with the highest inpatient rehabilitation care and experience. She oversees programs serving all types of patients, including neurological rehabilitation such as stroke, brain injury, and spinal cord injury; geriatric debility with complex medical conditions; post-procedure weakness; major multiple trauma and amputation; and other post-acute hospital stay conditions.

Dr. Guffrey is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation since 2012. She completed her MD at the University of Arizona with clinical honors in Neurology, Orthopedic Surgery, Spinal Surgery, and Internal Medicine. She completed her Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency at The Ohio State Medical Wexner Medical Center.
