What is a concussion?

A concussion is an energy crisis in the brain due to diminished blood flow. The reduced blood flow causes the brain to be unable to regulate itself. Therefore, certain systems of the brain may not communicate effectively, resulting in the symptoms you may experience. It's essential to remember that most symptoms experienced by an individual may present right away to 72 hours following the incident. These symptoms vary widely, and many factors can affect how long they may last.

What can cause a concussion?

A concussion may occur when forces are applied to the head, directly or indirectly. This force can set the brain into motion, resulting in a concussion or a mild traumatic brain injury.
Medical care is vital to help expedite the recovery process, preventing post-concussion syndrome. The prevention process occurs by fine-tuning the different systems of the brain and training them to work together effectively.
