Center for Rehabilitation and Wellness at KCH Offers New Classes

The New Year brings new opportunities for those resolutions that involve wellness and exercise.  The Center for Rehabilitation and Wellness has some new offerings for those interested in yoga as well as additional class times for AquaFit.

The first new class is Basic Flow Yoga, a balanced combination of sustained poses as well as flowing in a mindful progression from one to another.  Attention is always given to basic alignment and therapeutic principles.  Mindfulness and observing breath and body are an integral part of class.  Classes are balanced with energy to give you a good physical workout and calm to keep you balanced.  These classes will be offered on Tuesday and Thursday nights at 5 pm.

Next is Chair Yoga, a general description for practices that modify yoga poses so that they can be done while seated in a chair, or using the chair for support.

Many of the basic body mechanics of the individual postures are retained, no matter the stance of the practitioner.  While seated on the chair, the student can do versions of twists, hip stretches, forward bends and mild back bends.  In addition to a good stretch, chair yoga participants can enjoy other health benefits of yoga, including improved muscle tone, better breathing habits, reduction of stress, better sleep and a sense of well-being.  This class will be held on Wednesdays and Fridays at 1 pm.

And good news!  More Aquafit classes will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 1 pm beginning in February. The Friday 10am class will no longer be available.

Pre-registration is requested for these classes as space is limited.  Call 740 393 9875 to register and confirm beginning dates for these classes.
