Knox Community Hospital Auxiliary Awards Scholarships

The Knox Community Hospital Auxiliary recently awarded $16,000 in health career scholarships to area high school graduates and area college students in their third or fourth year of education.

Auxiliary scholarship committee members considered all applications prior to making their selection.  Students are considered on the basis of their scholastic standing, community involvement, as well as financial need.

The 12 high school recipients they have chosen are: 

  • Olivia Amstutz
  • Victoria Carrier
  • Emily Derikito
  • Nathan Grizenko
  • Cal Honabarger
  • Kari Llauderbaugh
  • Bailey Mast
  • Anitra Myer
  • Hannah Hebenthal
  • Rachel Neuerer
  • Danielle Nininger
  • Rowan Rine. 

The 4 college school recipients chosen are: 

  • Clayton Curts
  • Paige Hunter
  • Mackenzie McClure
  • Makenzie Thorpe

The Auxiliary raises money for these scholarships through many fundraising events.  Also, the sales of the Hospital Gift Shop contribute to the scholarships that have been awarded over the past several years. In addition to the scholarships, the Auxiliary provides funds for the donation of toys given to children who come in for emergency services, laboratory, surgery and diagnostic imaging.
