PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Independently operates switchboard, facilitating all calls, codes, and alarms
- Maintains knowledge of and assists the organization in directing calls and code response by paging proper areas/physicians/staff
- Monitors alarms and dispatches required staff as needed for response
- Demonstrates proficiency in computer applications and technologies
- Maintains the highest degree of professionalism and confidentiality
- Provides outstanding customer service to internal and external patients/customers
- Comply with all local and state federal regulations.
- Assumes responsibility and accountability for individual knowledge, skills, performance and behavior in accordance with hospital, division and department standards of care and policies and procedures.
- Utilizes measures to promote and maintain patient, visitor and personnel safety.
- Maintains patient, employee, physician and organization confidentiality; respects the rights, privacy and property of others.
- Supports the mission, values and vision of the organization.
Requirements Include

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- Successful completion of high school or equivalent required
- Basic medical terminology preferred.
- Experience in a high call volume center or related setting
- Effective oral communication
- Ability to work independently in a complex and changing working environments
- Ability to provide outstanding customer service and maintain high degree of confidentiality
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Performs accurate high quality liaison, directions, and general information to promote service excellence to physicians, staff, patients, and other customers. Performs call processing, paging (overhead), alarm alert monitoring, and code communications throughout the system
