Job Summary:
- Delivers direct/indirect patient care to newborns/moms utilizing the nursing process through data collection and assessment; implementation and prioritization of patient’s problems and needs
- Development/implementation/evaluation of a nursing plan of care.
- Demonstrates critical thinking to assure the delivery of safe, quality, age specific care.
- Delegates effectively to appropriate team members. Documents accurately and in a timely manner.
- Communicates and collaborates with other healthcare team members.
- Adheres to organizational policies and procedures; regulatory accrediting body requirements; and professional practice standards
Requirements Include
- Graduate of an accredited program for nursing education, BSN preferred.
- Current licensure to practice professional nursing in the State of Ohio.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider CPR (BLS) certification required.
- Certification in specialty is preferred; other as noted below for specific units as indicated within 1 year of hire:
- NRP required on hire or prior to completion of orientation. S.T.A.B.L.E. and ACLS required within one year of hire. AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring completed within one year of hire. NCC subspecialty certification in electronic fetal monitoring required within two years of hire.
