Clinical Office Specialist - Physical Therapy, PT

The Clinical Office Specialist is responsible for delivering courteous, prompt and respectful customer service.  Responsible for assisting patients, scheduling, registration of accounts, pre-certification, answering phones, sending patient information to appropriate individuals, billing, collecting and recording of co-pays, creating, maintaining (includes scanning of records) and discharging of patient electronic medical records. Responsible for assisting Wellness members with paperwork and schedules of programs and collection of payments.  Effectively communicates with all customers. Responsible for demonstrating effective collaboration between intra/inter departments. Responsible for completing in a timely manner all assigned tasks and duties utilizing multi-tasking skills. Responsible for assuring confidentiality of patient information and departmental information. Responsible for being knowledgeable of standard of practice for rehabilitative services and the payers. Adheres to organizational policies and procedures; regulatory/accrediting body requirements; and professional practice standards.

Requirements Include: 

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

     

  • Knowledge of medical terminology required

     

  • One year secretarial experience in a multi-level environment, OR

     

  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities

     

  • Current CPR certification required
