Exercise Physiologist - Center of Rehab & Wellness, PRN


Measure, examine, analyze and/or provide instruction to determine or evaluate the components of physical fitness to healthy and/or (ill health) diseased individuals.  To assist in improving the components of physical fitness and promoting the prevention of disease and disability.    Demonstrates critical thinking to assure the delivery of safe, quality care to adolescents, adult and geriatric clients. Communicates and collaborates with other healthcare team members, adheres to organizational policy and procedures, abides by regulatory/accrediting body requirements, and professional practice standards.   Assists with the daily operations.  May supervise fitness instructors.  Responsible for delivering courteous and respectful customer service.  Effectively communicates with all customers.  Responsible for demonstrating effective collaboration between intra/inter departments.  Responsible for completing in a timely manner all assigned tasks and duties utilizing multi-tasking skills.  Responsible for assuring confidentiality of patient/ customer information and departmental information.  Responsible for being knowledgeable of standards of practice for the practice of Exercise Physiology in a fitness center setting with rehabilitation.


  • Knowledge of the Exercise Physiologist role and scope of practice/standards of care.
  • Knowledge of current trends and standards of care in area of responsibility.
  • Demonstration of effective verbal and written communication, problem-solving, decision-making, interpersonal, and team-work skills.
  • Ability to assist with managing costs to respond to changing financial requirements.
  • Demonstration of general knowledge of the principles and practices of appropriate customer service in a healthcare setting.
  • Ability to understand hospital functions and organizational dynamics.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with all customers.
  • Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form.
  • Successful completion of proficiencies / competencies.
  • Demonstrates effective problem solving, decision making, interpersonal and team work skills.

  • Demonstration of phone etiquette

  • Successful completion of mandatory requirements including unit proficiencies/competencies

Requirements Include: 
  • Graduate of accredited program for Exercise Science, Bachelors of Exercise Science or equivalent degree required.
  • American College of Sports Medicine Certification or registry received within one year of hire.
  • Wellness experience preferred
  • Current CPR certificate required
