Cardiac/Vascular Technologist, PT


Acquires and analyzes data using ultrasound and related diagnostic technologies for carotid duplex evaluations, peripheral vascular Doppler, transesophageal and transthoracic echocardiogram, and exercise cardiac imaging.  Documents accurately and in a timely manner.  Communicates and collaborates with health care team members.  Adheres to organizational policy and procedures, regulatory/accrediting body requirements and professional practice standards.  Assesses patient and provides summary of findings to the physician.  Uses independent judgment and systematic problem solving methods to produce high quality diagnostic information and optimize patient care and optimize patient care.


  • Knowledge of professional technician role and scope of practice.
  • Knowledge of current trends and standards of care in area of responsibility.
  • Successful completion of unit proficiencies/competencies.
  • Demonstration of effective problem-solving, decision-making, interpersonal and team-work skills.
  • Demonstration of positive customer service.
  • Demonstrate ability to follow verbal and written direction.
  • Stays current with required continuing medical education (CME)
Requirements Include: 
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Current registry eligibility in echocardiography or vascular technology
  • RVT, RDCS or RDMS preferred
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider CPR (BLS) certificationrequired
