Secretary - Department of Primary & Specialty Care, FT

Responsible for the clerical support of the physician office.   This includes, but is not limited to, faxing, copying, scanning and mailing records, completion of forms, scheduling of tests for patients.  Responsible for reception of patients, registration, charging and initiation of new records; and maintenance of current records.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Able to work with minimal supervision.  Must be skilled to do transcription and knowledge of medical terminology is required.  Demonstrates knowledge of disaster/emergency procedures and responds appropriately. Assumes responsibility and accountability for individual knowledge, skills, performance and behavior in accordance with hospital, division, and unit standards of care and policies and procedures.

Requirements Include: 
  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum of two years clerical experience required

  • Previous experience with registration, medical records and worker's compensation preferred
