Diagnostic Imaging / Invasive Procedure Prep

Invasive procedures done at KCH include:

  • Arthrogram
  • Biopsies
  • Ductogram
  • Fistulogram
  • Hystereosalpingogram
  • Lumbar Puncture
  • Myelogram
  • Nephrostomy
  • Paracentesis
  • Spinal Puncture for Cisternogram
  • Thoracentesis
  • Venogram

Patient Preparation Instructions

  • If you are on blood thinners (Coumadin, Plavix, Adult aspirin, etc.), please arrive 45 minutes before your scheduled procedure to complete lab work.
  • Patients should discontinue blood thinners 5 - 7 days prior to the biopsy/procedure if possible.  Physician may prescribe a substitute such as Lovenox to be taken up to the day before the procedure.
