Mother, Daughter, Sister, Friends Project

Center for Cancer Care / Mother, Daughter, Sister, Friends Project

An annual mammogram is important to detect breast cancer, which can be best treated if found early.

Knox Community Hospital may be able to help if you cannot afford a mammogram.

  • Are not eligible to participate in the Breast and Cervical Cancer Project (BCCP).
  • Are 40 or younger who have a breast mass or identified area of breast concern.
  • Are 40 or older who is uninsured, under insured, or need financial assistance to cover a screening mammogram or annual clinical breast exam.
  • Are 40 or younger and at increased risk of breast cancer development, determined by BRCA 1 or BRCA 2 mutation, personal history of abnormal biopsy, or presence of strong family history of breast and/or ovarian cancer.

Free mammograms are made possible through a grant from the Columbus Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Agencies collaborating with Knox Community Hospital on the grant include the American Cancer Society, Region 5 Breast and Cervical Health Screening Project, Knox County Health Department, the Sanctuary Community Action and Kno-Ho-Co Community Action Women’s Health.
