The First Daisy Nurse Leadership Awardee - Alyson Pratt
"Alyson Pratt, the Director of Specialty Programming, is our Honoree for our very first Daisy Nurse Leader Award for 1st quarter 2023!"

We had an outstanding presentation for her in April and were thankful to have a few colleagues present for the award.

Carol Emery, DNP, RN, CENP
Chief Nursing Officer

Her winning nomination that was selected by Shared Leadership members read as follows:

"She is not only a special nurse; she is a special person. From the very beginning of my time in the department, she has gone above and beyond to help me succeed in my position. I've witnessed her practice the same leadership qualities with all employees in the area. She shows up every morning with a positive attitude that fosters unity and team building. She effectively communicates during daily huddles to keep our team informed of both small tasks and the big picture at KCH. She encourages us individually and as a team and causes us to want to do what is best for our patients and for KCH. Because she is extremely knowledgeable in every aspect of the different programs, the department runs smoothly. It's a great place to work! She manages to do all these things and still invests in us individually. She offers daily to help us in any way she can. One day, in particular, stands out in my mind. She knew I was having a stressful day. She encouraged me when I was feeling overwhelmed with a certain job responsibility, praised me when I finished, and then ordered my favorite meal and personally paid for it so I could relax and enjoy the evening when I got home. She is truly the best boss I've ever had. I'm honored to work for her, and KCH is blessed to have her leadership skills."
