JOB SUMMARY
Provides screening, evaluation and therapeutic intervention for patients referred by physicians or appropriate source.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Administer and score standardized test procedures to assist in evaluation of patient communicative skills.
- Interpretation and written reports are required following assessment including patient education and input related to test results and recommendations.
- Develop a treatment plan and implementation per doctor referral. Documentation and progress notes after each patient contact is required.
- Contact with physician/nursing is necessary to provide information on patient status.
- Interdisciplinary communication and/or treatment with physical therapy and/or occupational therapy
- Excellent interpersonal skills with all ages and socio-economic status.
- Job knowledge of the medical implications of various disorders of stroke, traumatic brain injury, tracheostomy/vent patients, language delay, articulation/motor disorders, intellectual disability and swallowing disorders.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- Master’s degree in Speech Pathology required.

Current License by the State of Ohio and Certified Clinically Competent by ASHA required.
- Ohio Department of Education licensure/certification (where appropriate).
- Maintained necessary CEU’s and training to retain licensure.
- Current CPR certification
